The instructor, Mrs Kirsty Povey is a 4th Dan International Instructor, has been training in Taekwon-Do for over 16 years, and has been instructing for 13 of those years at multiple clubs. Mrs Povey has trained students from white belt, to 2nd Dan black belt, with class sizes from 2 - 50 students at a time. Mrs Povey has attended numerous classes, camps, seminars and courses conducted by Senior Master Charles Birch (the Bai Rui school founder) including Black Belt and Senior Black Belt classes, Instructor courses and Master seminars. She also coached a team of over 70 competitors to Sydney for the ITF World Cup in 2018, as well as competing in sparring herself, in which she won a Bronze medal.
As an instructor, Mrs Povey is first aid qualified and a blue card holder. She has an emphasis technical training and on ensuring her students understand the reasons why various techniques are performed the way they are. The whole family is welcome, so feel free to head along at any time to give it a go and see what Bai Rui is all about.
